Relevate FAQ’s

Relevate is more than just a studio where you break a sweat, then split. We’re all about community and elevating your spirit, and you become part of our family the moment you walk into the studio your first time. Need more details? Read on below.

+ What is Relevate?

Relevate is a mindful movement studio based in San Diego, CA offering Barre and Pilates classes, as well as Transformational Nutrition Coaching. Our signature Relevate barre class is a turbocharged experience that weaves together yoga, Pilates, heart-pumping cardio, and functional strength training, all set to uplifting, high energy music. We finish every class with deep, restorative stretching to balance the body and calm the mind. Form, alignment, and safety are top priority in all classes, and all fitness levels are welcome. You will sweat, shake, quake, and be challenged, but you are also encouraged to listen to the wisdom of your body and take modifications and/or breaks as needed. Our Pilates classes are taught using the contemporary STOTT PILATES method. In classes, we are all about empowering you to do, be, and feel your BEST.

+ WHERE DO I CHECK IN FOR CLASSES?

The Barre and Pilates studio is on the 3rd floor of the La Jolla Crossroads Leasing Office building (9085 Judicial Dr, 92122). From 9:30am-5pm, you may enter through the Leasing Office and take the elevator to the top floor. Outside of those hours, you will have access through an outdoor entrance to the right of the Leasing Office main doors. A Relevate A-Frame sign will point you in the correct direction, and the outside door will be unlocked. Proceed up to the 3rd floor - the Pilates studio is the first door on your right, and the barre studio is on the other side of the Pilates studio. If the Pilates door is locked or another class is in session, please walk around to the other side. Detailed directions to get the studio will be provided when you pre-register for your first class.

+ I AM EXPECTING A BABY. IS RELEVATE RIGHT FOR ME?

Firstly, congratulations! We are so excited to welcome expecting and new Mamas to Relevate for both barre and Pilates classes. We do offer pre- and postnatal modifications for postures to ensure you are fully supported in your workouts. Many of our clients safely take classes well into their 3rd trimester. Please let your instructor know so they can guide you through the recommended modifications before and after your pregnancy. It is most important that you listen to your body, and as always, please consult your physician before taking class.

+ HOW OFTEN SHOULD I RELEVATE?

Relevate workouts are balanced to ensure you experience deep muscle burn, cardio blasts, and stretching/restoration. That said, it is not uncommon to be sore after class! Your recovery time between classes will depend on your fitness level and how many/what kind of other classes you take as part of your fitness regimen. The key is to listen to your body and find a routine that works for you. Know that each day is different, and you are always encouraged to take modifications and breaks in class as needed.

+ WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION/NO-SHOW POLICY?

Due to the limited number of spaces available in each class, clients must be accountable for their reservations. To allow every client the opportunity to attend class, we ask that you please abide by our policies listed below.

  1. Cancellation Policy: Please cancel class reservations at least twelve (12) hours prior to class. Classes cancelled after that time will result in a late cancellation fee of $15 for those with an unlimited class pricing option (charged directly to the credit card on file), or the deduction of one (1) class from a class package. For Reiki and Pilates Private Sessions, please cancel 24 hours prior to the session.
  2. No Show Policy: No shows will result in a late cancellation fee of $15 for those with an unlimited class pricing option (charged directly to the credit card on file), or the deduction of one (1) class/session from a package.
  3. Late Arrival Policy: New clients are required to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to class starting to complete waiver and payment (if not already completed), and to take a tour. If new clients do not arrive with sufficient time before class, you may not be permitted to take class. This is for your safety! If a class is full, late arrivals may lose their class spot to a client from the waitlist, and you will be early cancelled from your class.
